Our Visits to Kyoto Sushi

One of our favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities is Kyoto Sushi (there are several, but we always go the one in Eagan), a restaurant which serves an amazing choice of authentic Japanese specialty dishes which are served in an all-you-can-eat format. All of the items come in small, often individual portions, which allows you to sample many different items in one sitting. You can order and reorder as often as you'd like, and the service is quick. It's fun to try as many different things as possible, which we always do. It's a little expensive at $15.99 per person (weekdays, lunch. I believe for dinner and on weekends the price is $25.99!), but if you've ever ordered even a few orders of sushi at other sushi restaurants, this is a real bargain! (Everything we order for our all-you-can-eat feasts is also available individually on their menu, but the prices run from $3.99 to more than $8.00 for these individual items, further validating the great deal you'll get when ordering the all-you-can-eat lunch!)

So here are some examples of some of the things we often order:

   .

Pictured here, from our November 21, 2012 visit, are numerous orders of salmon sushi (regular and spicy), white tuna sushi, shrimp sushi, beef teriyaki (in this case, too many orders!), salmon teriyaki, deep-fried scallops, unagi (eel!) sushi, deep-fried tofu, and eggplant, sweet potato, and taro root tempura. And besides all that, we had quite a few other items, including shrimp tempura, unagi fried rice, and even a western style salad. Needless to say, we love it all! note

So the real reason for this web page is this: to document our orders during all our visits. We've always gone with friends, so if it looks like we're really ordering a lot, well, it's usually for 4 or more people. So here are the bills from our visits to this wonderful restaurant, which I'll update after each subsequent visit:

Not included in the bill is dessert; a choice of any combination of their three ice cream flavors, as many scoops as you want: green tea, red bean (Mei-O's favorite), and vanilla (my choice). Since they have an entry for AYCE (all-you-can-eat) for each diner, that makes up for the missing ice cream entries.

So if you want a unique dining experience (and like Japanese food), Kyoto Sushi is a great place to go!

Caveat: As you can see from the dates on the above receipts, our September 30, 2022 visit was more than seven years from our previous visit. We all agreed that the quality of the food had deteriorated and, most likely, we would not be going back.
