Hi! We're Rick and Mei-O (pronounced Mayo,
appropriately enough, just like the Mayo Clinic) Shabsin from Rochester, Minnesota
(home of the Mayo Clinic). We maintain this web site just for fun, using only a simple editor, a couple of
graphics programs,
a digital camera, and a scanner.
Mei-O and I have have lived in Rochester since January of 1984 when I came here to
work for IBM as a
software engineer. Before that, we lived in Warren, Ohio where, after I got fired from
my job as an air traffic controller by Ronnie Reagan for participating in the
air
traffic controllers' strike in August of 1981, I attended school
at Youngstown State University, earning a B.S. in
Mathematics with a Computer Science minor in December, 1983. We have one son, Chris, who lives in
the Boston area, having graduated from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering in 1995.

I currently work for Celestica Corp.,
a global technology services company headquartered in Toronto, Canada as a consulting software engineer for IBM
here in Rochester.
Mei-O works in Student Nutrition Services at
Pinewood
Elementary School and
Willow
Creek Middle School for the
Rochester
Public School District.
