interesting and a lot of fun.

As we sat in the Gezhouba lock waiting to rise to meet the river on
the other side of the dam, I noticed the many colors and textures
of the lock wall.

The little kids in the Lesser Three Gorges didn't go to school because
they made so much money off of the tourists who visited, mostly just by
begging. Their parents preferred it that way.

It was a long climb from the city below to this spot, just outside the
Stillwell Museum in hilly Chongqing where our tour group was while Mei-O
and I took a walk. This elderly shopper wasn't having any difficulties
making it.
