Us on the cruise ship.
A cruise ship similar to ours ahead of us. We saw quite a
few of them during the trip.

Shibaozhai Tower is built right into and against the mountainside;
only three walls are man-made. When the Three Gorges Dam is completed,
the water level will reach the lower parts of the temple.

In the Lesser Three Gorges. As dirty-brown as the Yangzi River was, this
tributary's water was crystal clear.
In the Lesser Three Gorges where we debarked for a while from the small
sampan (similar to the one in the background) that took us from the
cruise ship to this beautiful site.

In the mist. Much of the cruise was spent in misty river
valleys like this.
More interesting rock formations. Note the small structure
up on the hillside.

A high bridge over a very narrow pass in the Lesser Three Gorges.

Well, that's it. Obviously, I wish I had taken more
pictures! (I still have a lot at home in an album - they're not all out here.)
We lost many of the pictures we took on the boat of us dining with friends, the waitresses
and crew, Mei-O's surprise birthday celebration, the Lesser Three Gorges, and the ship
in general when we took a lot of pictures with a camera with no film in it (my fault)!
But I hope the pictures on the previous pages give visitors to this site a general idea
of what the cruise was like. For us, it was the trip of a lifetime. We hope to do it
again someday. |
